Hot Spot 4 On 6th June 2013, inCASA will be represented by In-JeT at The Danish Welfare Technology Exhibition and Conference. In-JeT will have an exhibition stand demonstrating the project’s technical solution and results. Specifically, the transferability capabilities of inCASA will be demonstrated using the results from the municipality of Skive who is currently testing the inCASA solution. The demonstration will include the touch screen and some of the devices used by chronic elderly patients in Skive and visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to try the devices themselves. In addition to the exhibition, representatives from Skive municipality will, in cooperation with In-JeT, give a presentation at the conference about their experiences with using the inCASA solution.
The annual conference is aimed at Danish municipal and regional healthcare and social care staff working with telemedicine. The Minister for Economic Affairs and the Interior, Margrethe Vestager, and former Health Minister, Arne Rolighed, are among the many prominent speakers at the conference. Hot Spot 3
The Italian national Exploitation Event was organized in the framework of the eHealth conference that was held on the 28th of May 2013 in Rome. REPLY, INVENT and ATC sponsored the event all day, by placing an inCASA stand. The Conference was sponsored mainly by:
  • The Ministry of Health
  • The Ministry of Economic Development
  • SIRM: an Italian association on Medical Radiology
  • AICC: an Italian association on Clinical Engineering
    Moreover, a specific inCASA workshop was organized within the event demonstrating the inCASA approach, the technical solution, the services and evidence of the inCASA results, presented by involved inCASA Pilot professionals.

    Hot Spot 2
    INSERM, along with TID and REPLY, submitted an abstract paper for the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The paper was accepted and inCASA project was presented at a very important event in the healthcare domain on 2nd of June 2012 at Chicago. The inCASA poster can be found here.
    The submitted work is focused on the French pilot study and is entitled 'The European inCASA telecare-telehealth electronic platform for the daily assessment of symptoms, weight and activity in cancer patients on chronotherapy at home.'

    Hot Spot 1
    First pilot in planning: The first inCASA pilot is being planned with the partner Agenzia Territoriale per la casa della Provincia di Torino. ATC Torino is the public body with responsibility for social and public housing in the area of Torino and its surroundings. The Pilot will focus on user behaviour, providing an useful profile to search and determine behaviour that could lead to health problems.

    ATC inCASA dissemination video

    ATC prepared a video presentation of the inCASA project, in which there are demonstrated the goals, the organization, the target users, the technology used and the involved human resources of the Italian pilot.

    The produced video about the ATC pilot is a very useful tool for the dissemination of the project - aiming at facilitating the acceptance of the technological solution.
    ATC provided merchandising material (Mug, pen, T-shirt and block-notes with inCASA Logo) for free to elderly people involved in the video production.

    inCASA Pilot Phase

    All 5 inCASA pilots have started their Pilot phase successfully and first results are collected and analysed
    Even if not all Pilot requirements are identical, a strong common set of requirements has been compiled along with common intervention protocols.
    All Pilots focus now not only on data collection but on patient's feedback in order to improve elderly user's experience with the inCASA ICT platform

    International Congress on Telehealth and Telecare 2012

    NTUA participated in the 2nd annual international telehealth and telecare congress, which took place in London between 6-8 March 2012. Andrew Kapsalis made a poster presentation about the inCASA project and the features of its platform which combines Telecare and Telehealth services to assist the well-being of elderly people at their own homes.

    Participation in the AAL forum 2011

    National Technical University of Athens joined the AAL Forum 2011 (26/9-28/9) that took place in Lecce, Italy.

    Konstantinos Papadopoulos made a poster presentation about the inCASA project vision and the unique features of the inCASA platform that enable the provision of integrated Telehealth and Telecare services to elderly people.

    Italian Initiative on ICT for Elderly and Disabilities

    Santer Reply joined an Italian Initiative on ICT for Elderly and Disabilities.
    Fulvio Marchetti presented the inCASA project on 27th october, on an Italian Event called "Innovabilità" . This is a cycle of seminaries on various topics related to elderly and disabilities organized by a Local Public Authority: The Province of Milano.

    During the Event the inCASA project presented the vision of the inCASA project and the inCASA basic set for habits monitoring.

    Paper on wireless network and gateway architectures for home care applications

    Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Sikora from Steinbeis Innovation Center Embedded Design and Networking (sizedn) has presented a paper on “Wireless Network and Gateway Architectures for Home Care Applications” at the 6th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications (IDAACS 2011).

    inCASA presented at BMT2011

    Steinbeis Innovation Center Embedded Design and Networking (sizedn) has presented a paper on the inCASA project with the title “Pilot Installations for Combined Telecare and Telehealth Services” at the Biomedical Congress of the German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE).

    Prior to pilot deployment WORKSHOP – General assembly

    The inCASA project conducted a succesful General Assebly Meeting in Rome, Italy on the 11th and 12th April 2011.
    The meeting was held at the premises of INVENT, at Tecnopolo Tiburtino
    It targeted various administrative issues as well as an extended discussion and planning on the Pre-Pilot Phase start.

    The main outcome of the meeting was that the pre-pilot phase was extended to 4 pilots in total (English, French, Italian and Greek pilot) to improve the quality of the testing phase of the project.
